BUSY at work has reached out to the Chamber in support of their local Job initiative.
BUSY is applying for funding to deliver a project under the State Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work Initiative.
This project would be based at the Kilcoy Motocross Track and would employ 15 disadvantaged job seekers plus a local supervisor plus a project mentor for 26 weeks. They would receive a weekly wage, and undertake a Certificate I In Construction. They would be erecting some shade structures, building seating, erecting fencing, refurbishing the toilet block etc.
Is successful with the application, commencement of the program is expected to be in March 2020.
Each of the participants will be supported into ongoing employment at the end of the project – they will also attract a Work Start Incentive for any employer who hires them into a traineeship/apprenticeship ($10 000 for 25yo+ and $20 000 for 24 yo and under).
