The residents of Somerset who are looking for work in the local Meat Production Industry have an opportunity under the Rural Support Training scheme for Drought affected regions of QLD.
The eligibility for this program has three criteria:
- age – minimum age 15 years
- citizenship – Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or Temporary Resident on the pathway to permanent residency
- place of residence or work – must be a Queensland resident and reside or work in a drought declared council area or on an independent drought declared property
The Program 6 HERE delivers training that will prepare participants with entry level skills and knowledge to assist in finding employment in the meat processing facilities. Here is the link to TQSW webpage where this and other RSTP Programs are listed: CLICK HERE
Kilcoy is hosting the Training Session at the Kilcoy RSL in Kennedy Street. The training will be conducted by TAFE QLD South West Region from Monday 24th February through to Friday 28th February 2020 from 8am (teacher arriving at 8:00am, 8:30am participants starting training) to 3:30pm each day.
